About Me – Jan Metti – Darbuka Artist from Stuttgart

My name is Jan Metti, originally from Baghdad, Iraq, and I now live in Stuttgart, Germany.

The Darbuka – also known as the oriental goblet drum – has been my companion since I was 15 years old. What started as a passion has become my profession: for more than 25 years, I’ve been playing oriental rhythms with heart, authenticity, and energy.

As a professional Darbuka performer, I play at a variety of events – from weddings, birthday celebrations, and henna nights to cultural events, dance shows, and festivals.

I combine traditional oriental rhythms with modern elements, creating a unique atmosphere that captivates audiences – whether on small private occasions or large stages.
